Designing PCBs from a Design For eXcellence (DfX) perspective: Considerations, Methodologies, Terminology, Standards

Design for Excellence (DfX) is based on the concept that “all start from design”  hence optimizing the initial step (the design) it is much better to get off to a good start than to solve problems later.

By following the right indications it is possible to reduce costs but also improve quality and reduce time to market.

Being able to apply DFX concepts is essential for anyone who wants to design and build robust and profitable products.

Designing PCBs considering Signal and Power Integrity

The course deals with the specific issues of high-speed PCB projects. Starting from the theory that regulates the principles of signal transmission and power distribution we underline the importance of the positioning of the components rather than the coupling between the tracks, the stackup, the distribution of the power supplies and we demonstrate how everything can influence the integrity of the Signal and the electromagnetic emissions.

The course is aimed at designers who want to have knowledge of concepts such as: reflection, cross-talk, power supply noise and electromagnetic emissions and above all have the tools and the knowledge to avoid and correct them in the design phase. It will give the possibility to estimate, calculate and simulate signal integrity problems before they occur on the board.

You will acquire the foundations to build good electronic design rules to obtain PCBs that work the first time, reducing remakes and therefore time to market.

Ample space is given to the prevention of problems with pre-layout simulation examples from which to derive the rules for correct PCB implementation.

The day is structured in theoretical lessons and examples shown by the trainer himself to establish the concepts using CAD tools suitable for the purpose.
