Description

IPC/WHMA-A-620 training programme covers accept/reject criteria for cable and wire harnesses/assemblies showing acceptable and defect conditions aided by colour visuals and illustrations and also covers process requirements, making this a stand alone document. This industry developed training programme provides individuals with a credential that demonstrates their understanding of the document.

This training programme, recognized all over the world,  covers accept/reject criteria for cable and wire harnesses/assemblies showing acceptable and defect conditions aided by colour visuals and illustrations and also covers process requirements, making this a stand alone document.

This industry developed training programme provides individuals with a credential that demonstrates their understanding of the document.

Recognized as the most widely used industrial standard worldwide, this course aims to train and certify specialized personnel in the use and application of the acceptability criteria defined therein for the assembly of components in PTH and SMT technology.

The validity of this standard is recognized internationally

There are three levels of certification

CIS: Certified IPC Specialist

CSE: Certified Standard Expert

CIT: Certified IPC Trainer The certificate has a validity of 2 years

DURATION
CIS: 3 days (CIT: 3 days CSE: 3 days)
TARGET AUDIENCE
Generally for all users of the standard in particular operators, quality controllers and purchasers
PREREQUISITES
Have mastery of manual soldering and knowledge of the materials and tools to use
ARGUMENTS COVERED
  • Module 1 – Foreword, Preparation, Measuring and Testing (Mandatory)
  • Module 2 – Crimp Terminations and IDC’s
  • Module 3 – Soldered Terminations
  • Module 4 – Connectorization, Molding and Potting
  • Module 5 – Ultrasonic Welding and Splices
  • Module 6 – Marking-Labelling, Securing, Shielding and Cable/Wire Harness Protective Coverings
  • Module 7 – Coaxial and Biaxial Cable Assemblies
  • Module 8 – Harness/Cable Electrical Shielding and Protective Coverings
The IPC-A-620 certified optional hands-pm training has been developed to help users and trainers of the document become more familiar with the practical basics of cable and wire harness fabrication. Focusing on process tooling and inspection requirements, students are required to follow design drawing and manufactures data sheets to fabricate, inspect and test the cable harness assemblies, incorporating soldered terminals, open and closed barrel crimping, lacing, slicing and shielding.
Additional notes
At the end of each theoretical module there is an exam consisting of multiple choice questions. To pass the exam, the candidate needs to get a score of at least 70% correct answers
